Academic Support and Advising 

  • On Tuesday, September 26, Lesli Hall, the college's pre-professional advisor, is hosting a pre-health meeting for students interested in healthcare careers from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Ag Information Center (room N24B). Information will be geared toward freshmen/sophomore students.

Scholarships and Funding Opportunities

  • The National Corn Growers Association is offering scholarships to students whose parents or guardians are members of the association.  For more information, and to apply, click here
  • The UK Education Abroad Diversity Scholarship, worth up to $5,000, is due by October 1.  Unlike other EA scholarships, this is a voucher to be used toward a future program and students do not need to have an active application to apply. For more information, click here
  • University of Kentucky Student Government Association (UKSGA) offers child care grants to UK students, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. To be eligible, a student must have a child enrolled in a day care or after school program that requires a weekly or monthly payment. For more information, and to apply, click here.

Club Meetings

  • The Agribusiness Club is searching for students to serve as 2017-18 club officers. Responsiblities include planning activities such as an in-state trip and out-of-state trip. Click here to apply.

Experiential Opportunities 

  • In collaboration with the College of Nursing, Dr. Amy Kostelic is directing a spring on-campus course with an international travel component to Costa Rica.  Students will study the unique health and well-being of Costa Ricans, participate in service learning projects and more.  Those interested should attend one of two info sessions: Tuesday, Septmeber 26 at 12:00 p.m. in 315 College of Nursing - or - Thursday, October 5 at 5:30 p.m. in 128 Erikson Hall.   • The UK office of Undergraduate Research is hosting the Oswald Research and Creativity Competition. Entries can range in a variety of forms, and first place will  receive $350. All undergraduate students are eligible to compete. For more information, click here.

Event Promotion

  • Students are welcome to drop-in a coffee chat with Dow AgroSciences and CGB on Tuesday, September 19 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Ag Information Center. This is a networking and professional development opportunity for any student interested in learning more about these companies and the agriculture industry at large. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. 
  • The UK Ag Career Fair is this Wednesday, September 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Attendees should wear professional attire and bring copies of their resume.  For more information, and to register, click here
  • John Maxwell, world renown leadership speaker, and New York Times best-selling author, will speak on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum. Tickets are free to students. To reserve tickets, click here.
  • The Food Systems Innovation Center is currently seeking 100 participants for an Alfredo* Pasta Sauce taste test on Thursday, September 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. in 201 W.P.   • The UK community is invited to the STARR Women's Self-Defense course.  This is a three day training course on reducing risk of assault, increasing awareness levels and learning offensive and defensive techniques in a safe environment.
