Club Meetings

  • The UK Horticulture Club will host a work day with tropicals on Wednesday, October 11 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Greenhouse 12. Students will participate in native plant and apple sales. For more information, contact Grace Ragain. 

Job Openings

  • The 2018 UK Cooperative Extension Service summer internship applicatitons are now avaliable. Students interested in community and economic development and who will have 36 credit hours by summer 2018 are encouraged to apply. Contact Antomia Farrell with questions, and click here to apply. 
  • Blue Grass Airport is seeking a spring intern to assist the Marketing & Community Relations department with social media, event planning, advertising, writing marketing materials and drafting press releases. The intern will undergo a background check to obtain an airport badge that will provide access post-security checkpoint at the airport. Send resume, cover letter and two writing samples to Tiffany Hart at NOTE: applications will be processed after November 1.
  • The BloodHorse LLC is currently seeking a Digital Library Sciences Intern. The internship will involve working with the Visuals Director and Digital Assets team for an average of 15-20 hours per week. Those interested should should send a copy of their resume to Meredith Helm.

Event Promotion

  • Students planning to walk in the December Commencement should attend "Grad Salute" happening October 10 and 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the King Alumni House on Rose Street.  There students can get measured for cap and gowns, receive exit counseling on student loans, seek last-minute career help and much more.   • UK School of Information Science is hosting Austin Knight, Sr. UX Designer at HubSpot for a lecture on "Lean UX in the Enterprise" on Thursday, October 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the William T. Young Athletic Association Auditorium. For more information, click here.
  • The Student Activities Board is hosting a Cross-Cultural Crafting night on Thursday, October 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in The Hub in Willim T. Young Library. 
  • Join SAB for a moderated discussion with the YouTube sensation Jenna Marbles on Friday, October 13. Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, tickets are now required to attend this event. All tickets are FREE, but limited seats are available. Online tickets are available at the UK Box Office, or in person at the Student Involvement Box Office in Bowman’s Den.
