  • The Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment Services (CARES) is seeking peer tutors for the Fall 2017 semester. Students must have taken and completed the course in which they would be tutoring and received a B letter grade or higher with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  For more information, click here

Experiential Opportunities

  • The UK College of Medicine invites all underrepresented minority junior and senior undergraduates with a strong interest in medical school to apply to its Medical Education Development (UKMED) Program.  This program is a two-day event, August 13 - 14.  Participants will observe an anatomy and physiology class, experience patient presentations by physicians and have the opportunity to converse with current minority medical students during a lunch panel discussion.  Additionally, students will receive tips on how to succeed during the medical admissions process. To apply, visit this page.  Application deadline is July 14. 
  • Students are invited to participate in the "Healthy Trees Healthy People" research project. Participants will be given specially developed maps of two local parks and asked to walk on a regular basis at those parks for six weeks.  Measurements of weight, physical activity, and stress will be taken before and after the six-week study.   If interested, please contact Teri O’Day at 859-257-3054 or
