Research / Funding Opportunities
- Sunday, January 30 marks the deadline for funding for undergraduate research opportunities. These awards will be made on a competitive basis to undergraduate students to gain research experience, complementing their coursework. Click here for the application form.
- The Office of Undergraduate Research is giving out four awards to students interested in pre-dental and who want to be involved in oral/craniofacial health research. Each applicant will need to apply along with a faculty mentor. If you do not have a mentor yet, you can search for and contact a mentor listed on this page under Research Mentors. The deadline will be Tuesday, March 1. Click here for more information.
- The Commonwealth Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) Fellowship seeks a diverse population of undergraduate students who are interested in research areas critical importance to Kentuckians. These areas include cancer, diabetes, energy, neuroscience, substance abuse and more. Participants will receive a $3,000 stipend for the Summer 2022 term. Click here for more details.

- Come meet with local nonprofits at the Gatton Student Center on the social staircase on Tuesday, January 25 from 9:45 am to 12:00 pm to learn more about volunteer and work opportunities in Lexington. Click here for more information.
- All students are invited to help make sack lunches for the Hope Center's Mobile Outreach Program on Wednesday, January 26 at the Gatton Student Center in room A252 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. Please note that there will be peanut butter in the space during this event. Click here to sign up.
- The Campus Kitchen is hosting a Farm to Fork Lunch Pick Up on Wednesday, January 26 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Meals will be distributed from two places: N24 Ag North and 207 Funkhouser. Students may dine-in or take their meal to-go. Click here for details.
Job Openings
- A Versailles horse farm is seeking part-time help with three mares. Responsibilities include general horse care as well as barn and farm maintenance. For more details, click here.
- The Soil Physics Program is looking for an undergraduate student for field and laboratory work in a soil management project. With the team, the student will take field measurements, quantify soil water and aggregate characteristics (field/lab), and analyze experimental data. Contact Ole Wendroth for more information.
- The Office of the University of Events is seeking a student technician to provide audio/visual support for events across campus. As an entry-level position, the technician is trained in basic sound reinforcement, video production, lighting principles, and equipment. Click here for the application.
