  • The Western Reserve Herb Society is offering a $10,500 scholarship to an outstanding Junior or Senior planning a career related to horticulture, teaching, the public/nonprofit sector, or sustainable agriculture. The deadline to apply is February 28. Learn more and apply here.

Student Support

  • Transformative Learning is offering a free GRE Prep Seminar on Thursday, February 25 from 9:00 to 12:30 virtually via Zoom. This one-time seminar is designed to provide test-takers with an overview of what to expect when taking the GRE, test taking and study strategies, as well as review materials for the exam.   • For students experiencing food insecurity, the University may be able to offer campus meal swipes through the Swipe Ahead program. For more info, and to apply, click here.
  • Farm to Fork offers a locally sourced, nutritious, free lunch to all UK students. Meals will be distributed from Room 207 of Funkhouser on a first come, first served basis on Wednesday, February 24 from 11:00 to 1:00. Campus Kitchen asks that students RSVP before stopping by. Experiential Opportunities

  • The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is now seeking applications from students interested in becoming a college ambassador. The CAFE ambassador program is a great way to build skills and network across our communities. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 19. Learn more and apply here.
  • This year, up to 300 undergraduate student leaders will be selected to mentor and lead incoming students during K Week. Responsibilities include mandatory training, meetings, and extended duties after K Week is over. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 5. Click here to apply.

Job & Internship Opportunities

  • There are several Summer Conference Housing positions available for students to work full-time or part-time during the May – August conference season. Tasks may vary, but include hospitality and customer service, conference coordination, administrative tasks, and maintenance. The deadline to apply is March 7. Learn more and apply here.
  • The Agroecosystem Nutrient Cycling Lab in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences is hiring an undergraduate research assistant for spring and summer 2021. The student will assist with research testing the effects of management practices on soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics both in the laboratory and in the field. Learn more and apply here.

  • The Locally Sourced virtual cooking class with Dan Wu of Atomic Ramen is Friday, February 26 from 6:00 to 7:00.
