AFE (GEN) 100 Peer Instructor
The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking applicants for its AFE 100 (formerly GEN 100) Peer Instructor program.
Peer instructors will assist new students as they transition to college life and support coursework instruction related to issues in agriculture, food and the environment.
Prerequisites:
This program is open to students who have previously earned a "B" or high in AFE 100 (formerly GEN 100) Issues in Agriculture, Food and Environment.
AFE Peer Instructors wil;:
- Earn AFE 330 credit (3 hours)
- Apply leadership skills to facilitate studentlearning in AFE 100
- Identify proper mentoring methodsassociated with a variety of student needs
Articulate the educational science behindchosen teaching methods
Examine ethical considerations towardseducational practice•Evaluate the mentor learning process withinthe undergraduate classroom setting
Establish individualized professional growthgoals and outcomes
Apply teaching methods during a coursesession
Reflect on teaching methods during a coursesession
