What advice would you offer an incoming freshman in the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment?
Get involved! Join different student organizations and clubs, this is the best way to make friends and find people with similar interests. The University of Kentucky and the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment have so many opportunities for students to get involved, so take them!
What's been your favorite course and why?
My favorite course has been ASC 382, animal production principles. The instructor for this class, Ms. Lead was always very engaging and knowledgeable about all things animal production. This class also had a lab where we got to practice and apply the things we were learning. I could really see everything being taught in this class being useful for my future career.
Madison's Top 3 Study Spots:
- Basement of Willy T - the whiteboards are great for studying
- Alumni Plaza on a nice day - always great to get some sunshine
- Starbucks in Willy T - for when you need some caffeine
Have you completed an internship, job, or been involved with a club that has been especially meaningful to you?
I have loved being involved with Sigma Alpha, a professional agriculture based sorority. This has allowed me to meet some of my best friends and grow professionally. Finding your friend group in college is so important and Sigma Alpha allowed me to find mine.
