What advice would you offer an incoming freshman in the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment?

Get involved! There is SO much to do and be involved in on Ag campus and throughout the entire university. This was a huge help for me to make connections and quick friendships. There are a variety of clubs and organizations to join, I would almost guarantee there is one for everyone!

Have you completed an internship, job, or been involved with a club that has been especially meaningful to you?

I currently work with the MG-CAFE Office of Philanthropy and Alumni which speaks to the many opportunities within the college and university for student working positions. In this position I am a student assistant and help with the day to day operations at the Cooper House. This job is very flexible and I am encouraged to put all school related things as priority compared to work based things. I have found working within the college as a huge blessing and I am thankful for the time I have spent here thus far.

Tell us about the city of Lexington. What surprised you? What places/people do you like most?

Coming from a small town, I was fearful of drowning in the largeness of Lexington, that is the farthest thing from the truth! While you are on campus it feels like its own little world and navigating the area is not difficult. I have grown to love the area of Lexington and there are so many places to venture out to. Not to mention how beautiful it is! There are many, many touristic locations to visit as well.
