NATIONAL AGRICULTURE WEEK – COMING UP

National Agriculture Week is happening the week of March 24 – 28! We’ve got plenty of exciting activities in-store for you, and don't forget to check social media that week for giveaways.

  • Tuesday, March 25 – Join us for a Lunch and Learn with the Office of Undergraduate Research in Ag North N24F! This event is from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. and is a great way to learn about the different research possibilities within our college.
  • Tuesday, March 25 – Alumni Speaker Series: Edwin Carter, former CPS Global Supply Chain Director (VP Level) at the Coca-Cola Company will speak on “Career Management – How to Manager the Career You Hope to Have.”
  • Tuesday, March 25 – Graduate Preview Night is happening from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Seay Auditorium and Lobby! This is a joint event involving the University of Tennessee and the University of Kentucky, where you will learn how to prepare for graduate school and make your application stand out.
  • Wednesday, March 26 – Movie Night with Collegiate Farm Bureau in Seay Auditorium. CFB will be showing “A World Without Cows”, which is a documentary highlighting the cultural, economic, nutritional and environmental significance of cows. Kentucky Proud snacks will be served, and there’ll be a drawing for a free t-shirt.
  • Friday, March 28 – Extension/Service Day will consist of service opportunities at the Arboretum, Campus Kitchen, Water Week, and Big Blue Pantry.
  • Friday, March 28 – Trivia Night at Mirror Twin from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Grab a friend and join students, faculty, staff and alumni for a fun evening and test your ag knowledge! Hosted by Farm Credit Mid-America.

Campus Kitchen Sustainable Operations Internship

Love food and sustainability? Want to make a difference at the Campus Kitchen at UK? As an intern, you’ll assist with meal prep and food recovery - all while developing a sustainability project to enhance CKUK’s sustainable operations. Passionate about climate communication? Organizing events? We’re hiring an intern to support the Kentucky Climate Consortium in their efforts to make reliable and relevant information about the climate accessible to all Kentuckians.  Ideal candidates will have experience or interest in learning how to communicate about scientific topics, write website content , and manage event logistics! Now Hiring: UK Dining Intern

UK Dining is responsible for running all residential dining and retail locations on campus, in addition to catering operations and sporting events at Kroger Field and Memorial Coliseum! The Dining Sustainability Intern will be responsible for assisting the UK Dining Sustainability Director on a variety of projects and initiatives throughout dining operations. Now Hiring: Energy (Lab Environments) Intern

We are hiring an Energy (Lab Environments) Intern who will work with Utilities and Energy Management on improving energy efficiency in lab environments. The selected intern will support the UKULELE Program, work with lab and energy stakeholders, and explore sustainability solutions by developing new or enhancing existing initiatives. No lab experience needed - just a passion for energy efficiency and innovation! Application Deadline: March 30
