University of Kentucky Scholarship College of Agriculture Food and Environment

Although only one application is required for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment scholarship, there are dozens of potential awards. Thanks to the generosity of donors and alumni, awards are based on criteria such as major, hometown, career goals, club involvement, and more.

Application Overview

To be eligible for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment scholarship, current students or transfer students must: 

  • Have a 2.6 cumulative GPA as of Fall 2020
  • Hold a primary major in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment 
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student during all semesters in which the scholarship(s) will apply (December graduates are eligible to apply)
  • Plan to attend the College Scholarship Luncheon 
  • Complete the scholarship application by January 31

College of Agriculture, Food and Environment scholarships are awarded for one academic year, in two equal amounts, for the fall and spring semesters. Students must re-apply for continuing student scholarships in the spring semester of each year.

The essay portion of the application is extermely important.

Students must complete a personal statement that answers the following questions:

  • Tell us about a time when you failed at something.

  • What were the circumstances?

  • How did you respond to failure?

  • What lessons did you learn?

Students are encouraged to draft their statement prior to beginning the application, and utilize the UK Writing Center to strengthen their essay. 

The 2020 - 2021 application for current students and transfer students closed on January 31. 

Current students will be notified when the 2021 - 2022 application opens later this fall.
