Scholarship Description

The Louisville Agricultural Club Scholarship Program assists promising and outstanding high school seniors interested in pursuing careers in agriculture. The award provides scholarships for the attendance at agricultural colleges and universities located in Kentucky and Indiana.

Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who enroll in agricultural or agricultural-related curricula at agricultural colleges or universities only in Kentucky or Indiana. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, financial need, leadership, extra-curricular activities, character and citizenship.

Persons applying for scholarships awarded by the Louisville Agricultural Club must submit the following:

  • A completed application form (Click Here to Download in Word or Click Here to Download as a PDF)
  • A transcript of your high school grades and evidence of your ACT score and SAT score, (if taken).
  • The grading scale for your high school and a copy of your second semester senior schedule.
  • Two letters of recommendation describing characteristics such as leadership, citizenship, self-motivation, self-discipline, potential, etc.  (One from a school official such as a teacher, counselor, or principal; and one from a non-relative who knows you well).
  • An essay, in 400 words or less, addressing the following: “Who or what influenced you to choose your preferred agricultural-related career?” AND “What do you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?” (Address both topics in the same essay, not to exceed 400 words total).
  • The 2019-2020 Confirmation Page of your FAFSA application for federal student aid showing your EFC score.


Criteria for Eligibility

The Louisville Agricultural Club scholarship awards are intended only for high school seniors who are residents of Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties in Indiana.
