  • The Agroecosystem Nutrient Cycling Lab in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences is hiring research assistants. Students will assist with research studying the effects of management practices on root growth, cover crop growth, and soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics. Work will be conducted in the laboratory and in the field. Part-time and full-time positions are available. Competitive hourly pay is dependent on experience, opportunities for PLS 395 credit exist as well. All students with an interest in soil science and agroecology are encouraged to apply.   • UK Philanthropy’s Office of Annual Giving seeks two interns who will work in the Center for Student Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (CSPAE). The CSPAE interns will work closely with the associate director of Annual Giving to promote a culture of philanthropy among students at the University of Kentucky. The selected individual will work on philanthropy projects that may include planning and promoting student philanthropy events, writing thank-you notes to UK donors, participating in One Day for UK and other philanthropy projects as assigned. Interns receive a $1,500 tuition stipend for 10 hours/week for the entire Spring 2023 semester. Students can also use the internship experience to earn course credit. They will work in the CSPAE in the Gatton Student Center and other locations to be determined during campus philanthropy events. Interns only work on days that UK classes are in session. Prior experience in the field of philanthropy is not required. To apply, submit resume and cover letter on HandShake.   • The UK Office of Undergraduate Research has a number of upcoming sessions for interested students. Attendees will learn how to find research opportunities, connect with faculty and more. Click here for more information
  • On Thursday, January 12 from 5:00 to 8:00, UK Campus Housing is hosting their Woodland Wonderland, a pop-up ice rink with a DJ and sweet treats. Attendees will receive a free t-shirt and UK beanie while supplies last. 
  • UK Education Abroad is hosting its spring fair on Wednesday, January 18 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in the Gatton Student Center Ballroom.
