Career Development

  • The Job Club meeting will be hosted on Tuesday, March 8 from 9:00 to 10:15 am and the attendees will have the best-practice-flyover of aligning job satisfaction to core values, social media, personal brand management, resume refreshes, and interview strategy. This event may be joined online or in person at the Fayette County Cooperative Extension Office.   • All UK students and alumni are invited to join a virtual career fair on Wednesday, March 9 hosted by AgCareers.com. Attending employers include dozens of top companies looking to fill positions throughout the Midwest region. Open positions include areas such as finance, communication, production, processing, research and development, and much more. Advising and Academic Support

  • On Monday, March 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Study will be hosting a Common Hour Review session for students enrolled in CHE 107. These large group tutoring sessions focus on practice problems and exam prep strategies. For more information and the downloadable worksheet, click here
  • Transformative Learning will be offering free ETS-certified GRE Prep Seminars for UK students on Tuesday, March 8 from 9:30 to 11:30 pm. This one-time seminar is designed to provide test-takers with an overview of what to expect when taking the GRE, brush up on test-taking and study strategies, as well as review materials for the exam.   •  The Study will be hosting a Common Hour Review session for students enrolled in MA 123 on Tuesday, March 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The Study provides a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for students to drop in, as they wish, to seek help on homework or exam prep, or simply to study within a group environment. For more information and the downloadable worksheet, click here.

Events and Club Meetings

  •  Students are welcome to meet with an involvement advisor who can help students find the right involvement opportunities on Monday, March 7 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Students can visit the advisors in the Center for Student Involvement (2nd floor of Gatton Student Center) in room A252. Click here to register for a meeting. 

  • On Monday, March 7, the College is hosting Midterm Stress Buster in the Ag North Wellness Room (N24). Students can enjoy some free snacks and treats while playing with puppies from 4 Paws for Ability.

  • On Tuesday, March 8 from 2:00 to 2:30 PM, the College is hosting a gentle yoga session in the Ag North Wellness Room (N24). This light exercise will be a time for students to unwind and learn more about yoga practice. All experience levels are encouraged to attend.

  • MANRRS will be hosting a table discussion on various topics from social, professional, and collegiate life on Thursday, March 10 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Ag North Wellness Room. All students are invited to come. Click here to RSVP. 

Paid Openings

  • B-Run Farm is hiring a resident farmer. The Resident Farmer will be responsible for all matters related to agriculture operations at B-Run Farm. The Resident Farmer will also engage with the farm manager to develop and institute land management practices on the farm that meet the highest standards of environmental stewardship.   • The Office of Sustainability partners with the Student Sustainability Council and the Tracy Farmer Institute for Sustainability and the Environment (TFISE) to provide exciting and meaningful undergraduate internship opportunities for UK students. This internship runs from August 2022  to May 2023. Interns will work with a mentor on supporting a specific sustainability unit on campus, develop an independent project, and participate in a professional development series with the full cohort of interns.   • Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is hiring a Neighborhood Nature Programmer to develop, schedule, and lead educational programs.
