Advising and Academic Support 

  • This Friday (10/8) from 12:00 to 1:00 pm learn more about the study abroad program for FAM 455 The Keys to Health and Well-Being in Greece. This is a study on the healthy lifestyles of people who live to be 90+ years old, free of chronic disease, cancer, diabetes, and dementia. There will be a Mediterranean cooking demo and tasting.   • Save the Date to attend a Common Hour Review for students enrolled in CHE 105, MA 113/114, MA 109, and MA 123. Fall 2021 Common Hour Reviews will be held at The Study Central in The Boone Center. For more information, click here.
  • Students wanting to get more involved on campus can schedule an involvement advising appointment. During these appointments, involvement advisors connect students with select programs based upon their interests and goals. These advisors can meet via email, phone, Zoom or  in-person.   • This week, the Stuckert Career Center will be hosting various college/school fairs - including one for law school and another featuring a variety of graduate programs. This is an opportunity for any student to explore their post-graduate options and connect with representatives from various institutions. Service Opportunites

  • All students are invited to join The Campus Kitchen for various hour-long volunteering openings. This group is a student-led service organization that reduces food waste while also providing healthy meals to individuals on campus and throughout the Lexington community.   • This Saturday (10/9) from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm students can participate in the cleanup and beautification of African Cemetery No. 2. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, African Cemetery No. 2 is full of history and is the resting place of some of the most notable Black Kentuckians. Click here to register.

  • On Tuesday (10/5) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm The College of Communication and Information will hosting guest speaker Virginia Moore, who was recently named Communicator of the Year to educate students about accessibility and inclusivity during a global pandemic.   • The Undergraduate Student National Dental Association is hosting its general body meeting on Tuesday (10/5) from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
