Advising and Academic Support

  • Transformative Learning will offer free ETS-certified GRE Prep Seminars for UK students on Tuesday (11/09) from 1:00 to 4:30 pm. This one-time seminar is designed to provide test-takers with an overview of what to expect when taking the GRE, brush up on test-taking and study strategies, as well as review materials for the exam. For more information and to RSVP, click here.
  • On Wednesday (11/10) at 4:00 pm the University of Kentucky Counseling Center will host a workshop to help students to recognize the warning signs that someone is thinking about suicide and how to apply three steps to save a life. Attendees will receive a QPR booklet and card with information on suicide prevention as well as resource information within the community. For more information and to access the Zoom link, visit the UK Counseling Center website.
  • The University of Kentucky Counseling Center will be hosting a workshop on Wednesday, November 10 at 4:00 pm for students who prepare well for class exams but consistently receive low test scores. The workshop facilitator will help students definite the problem and develop useful solutions. Click here to join the workshop and access more information. 

Career Development 

  • The Job Club will be host a meeting on Tuesday, November 9 from 9:00 to 10:15 AM by nationally certified career counselors as they share best practices for the job search. To register for this event, click here. 
  • Teach for America invites students from all majors to join their information session on Wednesday, November 10 at 5:00 PM in room 330 of the Student Center. Attendees will learn about salary incentives, service options, tuition funding and more. 
  • November 11 marks the deadline to apply for the MANRRS/ NASDA Foundation 3rd Annual Ag policy summit. The Ag Policy Summit is a conference that exposes MANRRS college students to federal agricultural policy and industry relations. This summit will profile how law and policy are drafted and students will have the opportunity to meet the agriculture commissioners, directors and secretaries from their state while learning about the roles of state department of agriculture in advocating for sound federal policy. Click here to apply. 

Fundraiser

  • The Agronomy Club has grown popcorn at Spindletop Farm this summer and is currently selling it as a fall fundraiser in the hopes of expanding activities for new club members in the future. To participate in this fundraiser, click here. 

Events & Club Meetings

  • All students are invited to attend the Lunch and Learn series in the MLK Center on Wednesday (11/10) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Lunch and Learn is a monthly series designed to provide an opportunity for students to engage dialogue with academic support resources and esteemed faculty. To RSVP, click here. 
  • Join the Agriculture and Medical Biotechnology Club on Thursday (11/11) from 6:30 to 7:30 in the Don & Cathy Jacobs Science Building for their final meeting of the semester. There will be guest lecturers speak about health and wellness in addition to mental health resources on campus. Visit BBNvolved to register for this event.
