Landry's Top Study Tips, Life Hacks, and Best Kept Secrets

  • Study Tips: Go somewhere really quiet, but not just Willy T because UK has other libraries! Go check out MI King and the Little libraries, that's where I go.
  • College Life Hacks: Buy an air fryer, there's lots of great food options in lex, so watch how it impacts your budget carefully.
  • Best Kept Secrets: Finding a path through Funkhouser and the Engineering buildings between your classes on north campus will keep you warm in the winter and dry when its raining.

Why did you choose your program, and/or how does (did) your program contribute to your career goals?

My family operates a cow calf operation in Liberty KY, and I intend to return to the operation at some point. However, in the meantime, I intend to work in sales in the agriculture sector. My degree in Agriculture Economics has prepared me for both endeavors.

What's been your favorite course and why?

AEC 340, agriculture human resource management, with Dr. Steve Isaacs was my favorite course. I enjoyed it so much because of Dr. Isaacs teaching style and how practical and applicable everything I learned was to my future.

What advice would you offer an incoming freshman in the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment?

I would advise an incoming freshman to live in the MG-CAFE LLP as it will help you make connections and friendships within the college that will serve you all four years. I would also encourage you to invest your time in the unique student organizations housed within the college. We have an incredible variety of degree specific and interest clubs and honor societies, as well as Sigma Alpha and Alpha Gamma Rho, which are our ag specific sorority and fraternity respectively.
