The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking Living Learning Program (LLP) peer mentors for the 2022 - 23 academic year. All University of Kentucky students meeting the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply.

NOTE: Application will be live in the coming weeks.

Eligibility 

  • Sophomore status as of Fall 2022 (current freshmen eligible)
  • Return to or move in to the LLP Residence Hall (Woodland Glen IV) 
  • Have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA 
  • Enroll in GEN 300 (1 credit) while serving as a mentor in fall and spring semesters  

Successful applicants will have a(an): 

  • Expressed interest in leadership opportunities
  • Desire to help others succeed 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite 
  • Understanding of diverse study strategies, goal setting, organizational and time management skills  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous participation in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Living Learning Program 
  • Experience mentoring or tutoring other students 
  • Successful experience with group projects 
  • Awareness and sensitivity to self and other individual learning styles and needs 
  • Public speaking experience 

Incentives 

  • Priority Registration for each semester
  • Academic Credit: enroll in GEN 300 (1 hour) during the fall and spring semesters 
  • Scholarship: receive a $500 scholarship for each semester ($1,000 total)
  • Personal and Professional Development: leadership skills, peer networking, resume building, career exploration, identity development, etc.
