Scholarships

  • The college's scholarship application for current students and tranfser students is now live. Applications are due March 1. Click here for details. 
  • The UK Libraries Dean’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Scholarship is awarding two $1,000 prizes to undergraduate students who showcase the use of library resources in their research projects. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply. Submissions are due no later than Friday, April 23. Learn more and apply here.

Club Meetings

  • The February Collegiate 4-H meeting will be held Monday, February 1 from 6:30 to 9:00 in the Gatton Student Center Senate Chamber. The session will include a short business meeting followed by a guest speaker. Attendees must RSVP on BBNvolved.
  • The Emerging Entomologists are hosting their monthly business meeting next Monday, February 8 at 6:00 via Zoom. Students interested in learning more about entomology and getting involved in the club can contact emergingentomologists@gmail.com to receive the link to join.

  • The City of Lexington is seeking a motivated, team player with a passion for equity in environmental education to lead the Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works’ K-12 programming.   • AgCareers.com is hosting a free career fair on Tuesday, February 2 from 10:00 to 4:00 for all students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture and food. Learn more and register here.
  • The Cultivating Inclusion Series begins with Allies and Accomplices 101 on Thursday, February 4 from 12:00 to 1:00 via Zoom. This session will focus on learning the difference between being an ally and an accomplice, leverage your power and influence, and how to contribute to a more equitable and inclusive community. Learn more and register here.
  • The Arboretum invites all students and friends to the Beginning Birder Challenge to follow a self-guided adventure on the Walk Across Kentucky Native Plant Collection and distinguish between two birds hidden in trees and shrubs.   • The UK Gaines Center for the Humanities and the CAFE Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles program are hosting a virtual discussion, “The Human Costs of Fast Fashion,” with guest speaker Soreyda Benedit-Begley on Wednesday, February 3 at 6:30.   • The Youth: Information, Spaces, and Experiences (YISE) Research Group invites any UK student to compete in a logo design contest. The logo must be an original, student design that includes the research group name YISE. Students can submit up to two entries to sarah.barriage@uky.edu by Sunday, February 28.   • The Fayette Alliance is presenting Grow Smart 101, a series of workshops designed to educate UK students on land-us planning and its relationship to our community's economic development, environment, and quality-of-life.
