NGC is proud of its college scholarship program which offers financial aid to students majoring in fields of study related to horticulture and the environment. Applicant must be planning a career related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture.



EDSA Minority


Scholarship Description

The EDSA Minority Scholarship was established to help African American, Hispanic, Native American and minority students of other cultural and ethnic backgrounds continue their landscape architecture education. Eligible candidates are in their final two years of undergraduate study or pursuing a graduate degree in landscape architecture. A recipient will be chosen based on their application, resume, letters of recommendation, work samples, as well as a brief essay.



Steven G. King Play Environments


Scholarship Description

The Steven G. King Play Environments Scholarship was created by Steven G. King, FASLA, founder and Chairman of Landscape Structures Inc., and the inventor of the "continuous play" concept. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize a student who has high potential in the design of play environments. This student must show an interest in the value of integrating playgrounds into parks, schools and other play environments and understand the significant social and educational value of play.



ASLA Council of Fellows


Scholarship Description

This scholarship fund was established by the ASLA Council of Fellows in 2004 to: 1) aid outstanding students who would not otherwise have an opportunity to continue a professional degree program due to unmet financial need; 2) increase the interest and participation of economically disadvantaged and under-represented populations in the study of landscape architecture; and 3) enrich the profession of landscape architecture through a more diverse population. Rain Bird Intelligent Use of Water


Scholarship Description

This scholarship was established by the Rain Bird Corporation to recognize an outstanding landscape architecture, horticulture or irrigation science student. Eligible applicants include students in the final two years of undergraduate study (third-, fourth-, or fifth-year students) who have demonstrated commitment to these professions through participation in extracurricular activities and exemplary scholastic achievements.



Landscape Forms in Memory of Peter Schaudt, FASLA


Scholarship Description

The Landscape Forms scholarship is named in memory of Peter Schaudt, FASLA (1959-2015) and his nearly 30-year career as a landscape architect. A leader and visionary in the profession, Peter was one of the founding principals of the award-winning firm, Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architecture in Chicago, Illinois and a dedicated member of the Board of Directors for Landscape Forms. Peter was widely admired for his incredible talent, dedication, generosity, and integrity.



Hispanic Scholarship Fund


Scholarship Description

The HSF Scholarship is designed to assist students of Hispanic Heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to both high school seniors and undergraduate students. Awards are based on merit and relative need.



Summer 2020 Research Grant


Scholarship Description

Conducting research during the summer can be a transformative experience for undergraduate students, as you put your skills to the test in labs, in the fields, in library collections, in art studios, and on the stage.



National Horticulture Scholarship


Scholarship Description

This horticulture scholarship is open to students who will be entering their junior or senior year of undergraduate study. The applicant must be attending an accredited college or university in the United States and have achieved a grade point average of 3.2 or above.

The scholarship award of $10,500 will be made to the student who demonstrates financial need and plans a career in horticulture and allied fields. The award will be sent directly to the financial aid office for payment toward tuition and books.



American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation


Scholarship Description

AHLEF offers a wide array of scholarship opportunities - available to incoming freshman through graduate students. Some are earmarked specifically for current hotel employees and others for minorities. A few have minimum GPA requirements, while others are open to full or part-time students. All require enrollment in a hospitality management degree program. You can read about each scholarship opportunity on our website and apply starting in November.
