Scholarship Description

The Edward E. & Beverley H. McDonald Scholarship Fund was established by Mrs. Beverley H. McDonald of Nicholasville, Kentucky, to provide scholarship assistance to graduating seniors from Bryan Station High School, Lafayette High School or Tates Creek High School in Lexington, Kentucky, or any high school located in Jessamine County, Kentucky. 



Louis B. Payne Scholarship Fund


Scholarship Description

The Louis B. Payne Scholarship Fund was established by the Falls City Pork Producers Association to support an outstanding graduating senior from Oldham, Shelby or Henry Counties in Kentucky, to advance their education.



Margaret & Lee Thomas Scholarship Fund


Scholarship Description

The Margaret and Lee Thomas Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to residents of Jefferson County, Kentucky who are attending or planning to attend undergraduate or graduate programs at an accredited college or university.



M-H Tuggle Fund


Scholarship Description

The descendants of Charles Tuggle, a slave freed by his owner in 1861, established this fund to assist needy young person’s attending or wishing to attend an institution of higher learning. This fund is to assist a young person in need that is attending or wishes to attend an institution of higher learning.



J. Fielding Reed Undergraduate Soil and Plant Sciences Scholarship


Scholarship Description

The J. Fielding Reed Scholarship was established in recognition of Dr. Reed’s life-long commitment to advancing the knowledge of agriculture through his work in soil science and natural resources, and his passion for educating students. Funds for the scholarship are made available through the Agronomic Science Foundation and administered by the American Society of Agronomy. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor an outstanding undergraduate senior pursuing a career in soil or plant sciences.



Agronomic Travel Study Undergraduate Scholarship


Scholarship Description

The objective of the Undergraduate Agronomic Travel Study Scholarship (formerly Cross-Cultural Experience Program Scholarship) emphasizes a learning and working experience for an undergraduate student to learn more about agricultural sciences and agricultural education through international agricultural programs. It also provides an opportunity for students to live and learn with students of another culture and language. The scholarship is made possible by a gift from the Lewis B.



Hubert J. Byrd Sr. Soil Science Undergraduate Scholarship


Scholarship Description

The scholarship was established in memory of Hubert J. Byrd Sr., a prominent and highly respected soil scientist. By encouraging undergraduate students to major in soil science degree programs, the scholarship will help recruit top students into nationally recognized soil science programs to meet the expanding and diverse needs of this field. The SSSA Consulting Soil Scientists Division encourages soil science undergraduates to pursue a career in the field of professional consulting soil science to meet the various public needs and practical applications of this science.



Create Real Impact Contest


Scholarship Description

The student must register with Create Real Impact and create an original work that showcases his/her solution to addressing the problem of reckless and distracted driving. Submissions should focus on distracting activities that are phone-related, such as texting, talking, or taking pictures. The orginal work must be submitted as a video (60 seconds or less) and must be uploaded to Youtube with Impact Teen Drivers and It Can Wait tagged.



ASHS Collegiate Scholars Award


Scholarship Description

This award honors the academic achievements of junior and senior undergraduates from departments of horticulture, or plant and crop science, who are majoring in horticulture. Students must be in the top 15% of their class, based on academic standing. The students should be selected on the basis of their scholarship achievements, leadership abilities, participation in campus/club activities, and services to their departments.
